Wendy’s begins testing AI drive-thru 🍟
All eyes are on Google I/O 👀
IBM brings transparency to AI with Watsonx 🔎
📢 Featured AI Tool: Bitskout
5 hours / week / employee is spent on manual data entry. To process each 2000 documents/month you need a full time headcount. And any tool to automate needs developers or a fortune. Enter Bitskout - A.I. powered document and email data extraction tool that works on top of Asana, Zapier, etc.

🍟 WENDY’S BEGINS TESTING AI DRIVE-THRU
Wendy's is bringing AI to its drive-thrus, 'cause, ya know, humans can't take orders fast enough. Say hello to "Wendy's FreshAI" in Columbus, Ohio, this June.
Their goal? To slice those drive-thru wait times.
Google partnered with Wendy's to teach the chatbot the secret language of "Frosty" and "JBC" (that's "junior bacon cheeseburger," folks).
But it ain't all milkshakes and fries. The AI has to deal with backseat chaos and indecisive order-changers. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian admits, "it’s actually one of the hardest" AI problems.
Fear not, meltdown-prone customers: a human will keep an eye on the AI, and you can chat with a real person if the bot can't get its act together.
Wendy's swears they won't replace workers with bots, but it’s hard to imagine this not impacting the labor force if successful.
Then again, people are already struggling with cashier-less kiosks at McDonald's – imagine them talking to AI!
Grab your popcorn fries, this is gonna be a wild ride.
👀 ALL EYES ARE ON GOOGLE I/O
Google's I/O event is on the horizon, and it's shaping up to be an AI extravaganza.
Various details have been released this week via CNBC’s piece, which revealed some major AI-focused updates.
One highlight is PaLM 2, Google's latest LLM. It's apparently has impressed many when it comes to: Coding, Math, and Creative writing tests.
We can also expect coverage of two other products: Bard and "Generative experiences" for search.
The former will expand to Japanese and Korean markets, making it even more versatile.
Don't worry Workspace enthusiasts, Google has some news for you as well. They're bringing AI tools to Sheets and image generation in Slides and Meet.
These updates follow Gmail and Docs AI features launched earlier for "trusted testers."
With I/O right around the corner (May 10th, to be exact), it's understandable why Google has kept tight-lipped about it all.
However, one thing is clear: with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft's making aggressive AI moves, Google is finally being forced to step up its game.
🔎 IBM BRINGS TRANSPARENCY TO AI WITH WATSONX
IBM's betting big on AI, and they're not being shy about it.
IBM's Rob Thomas says AI won't replace managers, but AI-savvy managers will replace the rest.
Watsonx's mission is to provide a toolset and consulting resources for building and adapting AI models.
Google, Amazon, and Microsoft already have similar platforms, but IBM claims watsonx offers "cost-effective infrastructure."
So how're they doing it?
For starters, they're offering 7 pre-trained models. They're also partnering with Hugging Face to help develop thousands more.
They're also unveiling two other products:
Watsonx.data, a "fit-for-purpose" data store
Watsonx.governance, for addressing privacy and ethics
IBM predicts AI will add $16 trillion to the global economy by 2030 and automate 30% of back-office tasks in five years.
But with a list of rivals and well-funded startups on the move, IBM's AI dreams face stiff competition.
