🇬🇧🤖 THE UK IS DEVELOPING ITS OWN AI

The UK government is all in on AI.
To signal their commitment, they have pledged $124.5 million to establish a Foundational Model Taskforce.
The goal of this team is to create a sovereign AI model for the UK that is “globally competitive”.
We’ve already seen the UK take a more open approach to AI than the rest of the EU union. (Which has been much more resistant and at times hostile to AI)
This committee will help bolster the UK’s competitiveness in the AI field. It should be noted that most of Google’s DeepMind team is already based in London.
Overall, this may signal a trend of every country eventually wanting their own sovereign models that they can control.
📱RUNWAY IS BRINGING GENERATIVE AI TO YOUR PHONE

Generative video is all the rage these days.
But wouldn't it be great if you could use it to change existing videos?
Well AI startup Runway has just the thing for you.
Their first mobile app on iOS allows users to transform existing videos based on text, image, or video prompts.
This is done via their Gen-1 video-to-video generative AI model.
To put it simply, the app enables users to apply various aesthetics or themes to their videos.
The output may be unconventional and strange at times, as is much generative AI in these early days.
🔦 SNAP’S AI CHATBOT RECEIVES CRITICISM
Snapchat's new AI chatbot feature has been having a bit of PR trouble lately...
"My AI" has received negative reviews from many users.
This has been illustrative via a spike in one-star ratings and complaints on social media.
Users are upset about the chatbot's placement: the top of their chat feed. Some see it as invasive and unnecessary.
Now people are calling for options to delete or opt-in to the feature.
Even more frustrating, a Snapchat+ subscription is required to remove the chatbot from their feed.
🔦 EVEN COCA-COLA HAS AN AI STRATEGY
Coca-Cola, one of the oldest brands still in existence, is exploring ways to leverage AI.
Pretty neat, right?
It wants to leverage this tech to improve:
Customer service
Ordering
Point-of-sale material creation (in collaboration with its bottling partners, of course).
While many are using this to artificially boost stock prices, we're just happy to see companies embracing the future.
