  • AI gives paralyzed man the ability to walk again 🚶

  • ChatGPT app sees explosive growth in first week 📈

📢 FEATURED AI TOOL: Bitskout

Working with a large volume of emails? You probably already thought about automating those, but they look very unstructured. Pattern matching won't work, email parsers break when the words are placed differently.

Luckily, with Bitskout extracting data from unstructured emails is easy-peasy - just give a few examples and you will get your extracted data back. Go ahead and try - it will surprise you.

💬 TIKTOK TESTING AI CHATBOT

TikTok's cooking up a spicy new feature: their very own AI chatbot, "Tako." It's not out yet in the U.S., but it's giving test runs in select global markets.

This funky tool sits above your profile, ready to answer your burning questions about the video you're watching - "Why is this cat so grumpy?" - or dish out suggestions for new content.

Hilariously, Tako comes with a disclaimer: "we might be wrong" – it’s like your indecisive friend who's great to hang out with, but never trust their trivia answers.

But wait, there's more: your chats with Tako aren't disappearing into the digital ether - they're getting reviewed for "safety" and to "enhance your experience". A little like your mom reading your diary for a better relationship, huh?

Privacy issues and security risks abound, but TikTok believes this could revolutionize content discovery, potentially luring the Gen Z crowd away from the Google search box. So, TikTok vs. Google – the saga continues.

🚶AI GIVES PARALYZED MAN THE ABILITY TO WALK AGAIN

AI is already performing miracles…

Gert-Jan Oskam, a once paralyzed man, can walk again. Thanks to a 'digital bridge' - a brain-computer interface developed by France's Atomic Energy Commission - he's taking steps into a life he once believed was impossible.

This brain-computer interface uses AI to decode brain signals and then translates them into leg movements. This is a pivotal result of a decade's worth of dedicated neuroscience and AI research.

After some surgical interventions and Courtine’s groundbreaking work, Oskam can now control his movements simply by thinking about it.

Now here's where things get really crazy:

Reports suggest that even with the tech switched off, Oskam is capable of walking with the aid of crutches. While it sounds like magic, it's actually hinting at a possible reorganization of the neuronal networks at the injury site.

Regardless of this groundbreaking tech needing "many more years of research," the sheer potential of this achievement is amazing. Who knows where it'll take humanity in the years to come.

📈 CHATGPT APP SEES EXPLOSIVE GROWTH IN FIRST WEEK

It's been six days since ChatGPT hit the iOS App Store and it's already seen over 500K downloads!

Here are the details:

  • The app is one of the highest-performing new releases in 2022 and 2023, beat only by Truth Social (so far).

  • It outshone its rivals, including Bing and Microsoft Edge's apps.

  • Even compared with just Bing and Edge's iOS downloads, ChatGPT was ahead with its 500,000 installs versus Bing’s 250,000 and Edge’s 195,000.

Despite currently being restricted to the U.S., the new app on the block is stealing the limelight.

Sure, a few competitors are still out in front like Chat with Ask AI (which currently has 1.4 million installs); but with ChatGPT's impressive debut, they might want to watch their backs.

Data.ai, the source of these stats, notes that downloads aren't the only measure of success. They say that they'll need a few more weeks to analyze active users.

So, while ChatGPT has been flexing its muscles on the download front, we'll have to wait and see if it can turn those into active users and keep its crown.
