š¦ D-ID LAUNCHES APP TO GIVE CHATGPT A FACE AND VOICE
Israeli startup D-ID has announced their new product āChat.D-IDā. (aptly named)
The application enables users to talk face-to-face using photorealistic AI. This is done through combining text-to-video streaming tech with ChatGPT.
This is why Chat.D-ID has the potential be a game changer for those who canāt read and write.
The beta version of the app features an avatar named Alice who can answer almost anything.
D-ID plans to add more avatars, with the ability to upload any image of your choice.
What was that? You'd like to use Dumbledore's likeness? Donāt worry, D-IDās got you covered.
The startup is also helping victims of domestic violence. This is being done by using generative AI for global online support.
š¦ MICROSOFTāS NEW MEDICAL AI PROGRAM HAS ISSUES
Have you heard about an AI system called BioGPT?
It's supposed to answer medical questions in a reliable mannerā¦one would hope.
So, how does it perform?
It recently produced some misinformation on medical topics.
One of them was about a ghost that haunted an American hospital. This alleged event came from nonexistent data from the American Hospital Association.
Another focused on unproven claims about childhood vaccines causing autism.
Despite this, the company defended their decision to release BioGPT. Still, critics continue to raise concerns about its potential for generating misinformation.
So, you may be asking: how will BioGPT be moving industries any time soon?
To that, we answer: Rome wasnāt built in a day.
