🚢 SALESFORCE SHIPS 2 NEW AI FEATURES

The largest CRM platform in the world is continuing to lean into AI.

Salesforce, has announced 3 major AI products to date:

Data Cloud (formerly Genie): A data warehouse tool

Einstein GPT: A generative AI tool

Flow: An AI workflow tool

Now the company is working on launching 2 new features on top of these products. These include:

  1. Einstein GPT for Flow: Combines generative AI textual interaction to create a workflow. No code needed, just type an action you want the system to take.

  2. Data Cloud for Flow: Uses data-driven event triggers to drive actions in Flow.

An example of this second use case would be: “When a salesperson reaches 100 sales, trigger a notification in Slack and write some celebratory text to support that workflow.”

💰 YOU WANT TRAINING DATA? PREPARE TO PAY

Data is the new oil…and the oil is no longer going to be free.

Over the past week we’ve seen a number of companies recognize the value of their private company data & move to defend it.

First it was Reddit, who stated that they would begin charging for access to their APIs.

Now we have Elon musk publicly tweeting, that he would be suing Microsoft. The reason?

Microsoft allegedly trained on Twitter data without permission.

Click on the tweet above to see my full thread on the implications of these moves by Elon and others.

⚖️ SHOULD AUSTRALIA DE-REGULATE?

Websites are like fuel for LLMs.

Copyrights? Regulation? These minimize how thorough an LLM can be.

This is why Google is urging the Australian government to relax its copyright laws.

Google argues that these laws currently don't have enough flexibility to support the development of AI.

They also warn that Australia risks only being an importer of AI technologies.

Supporters claim that it would improve translation services and detection of illegal content.

Critics raise concerns about protection of artists' intellectual property.

🤖 ATLASSIAN JOINS THE AI FRAY

Atlassian has launched Atlassian Intelligence, an AI-driven "virtual teammate".

For those that don't know, Atlassian specializes in products for software development teams.

Atlassian Intelligence will use OpenAI's LLMs in conjunction with their own models (Jira, Trello, etc).

It will provide users with a chatbox that's integrated into different products. This will allow users to:

  • Reference specific documents

  • Generate summaries

  • Draft social media posts based on product spec

Additionally, Jira Service Management users will get a whole host of new capabilities. They'll be able to:

  • Use a virtual agent to automate support interactions

  • Pull up answers from knowledge base articles

  • Summarize previous interactions

  • Translate natural language queries into Jira Query Language.

The virtual agent will be included at no extra cost in Atlassian's Premium and Enterprise plans.
