🔦 REPLIKA USERS REBEL AGAINST AI BAN

What if someone could make your girlfriend or boyfriend disappear with the click of a button?

That is what Replika users are claiming the company did as part of their recent update.

Replika, which creates AI companions, recently removed their “sexual option”.

This decision has sparked outrage from users, that has spilled over into the r/Replika subreddit.

There is even a petition to bring back “option Luka,” or introducing a lover option.

While some people may scoff at the notion of a digital romantic partner, the subreddit posts are a bit heartbreaking.

Many users claimed that they were “between human relationships” or “not ready for a real one”. The policy change has now left an emotional void in their lives.

This comes against the backdrop of a declining birth rates around the world, and increased isolation since COVID.

🔦 TOP LAW FIRM ENLISTS HELP OF AI CHATBOT

A top law firm is beginning to embrace AI.

Allen & Overy, which is a part of the “magic circle” of London-based law firms, has rolled out a new chatbot.

The chatbot is named Harvey, and is meant to help its lawyers draft contracts.

Harvey is built on top of OpenAI, and raised $5 million from the OpenAI Startup Fund last year.

This roll out comes amid a growing pressure on law firms to find new efficiencies for clients.

While the firm says it does not plan to replace any of its workforce, they did say future versions could eventually lead to cost reductions.

🔦 GOOGLE CEO ASKS EMPLOYEES TO REWRITE BARD’S BAD RESPONSES

In case there was any doubt of how seriously Google takes AI, consider this story…

Reports are coming out that Google CEO Sundar Pichai, is asking employees to spend 2-4 hours A DAY on Bard! 🤯

This was followed up by an email from Google vice president of search. The email also included a list of Do’s and Don’ts.

The Do’s included things like: “be polite, casual and approachable.”

The Don’ts included: “don’t stereotype and avoid making presumptions based on race, gender, age, etc.”

Employees were also told not to “describe Bard as a person or imply emotion.”

Coming off an embarrassing launch of Bard, it appears the company is determined to turn things around.
