🎤 NVIDIA CEO BREAKS VOW OF SILENCE FOR BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang just broke a four-year public speaking hiatus at Computex in Taipei today. And yes, he had some important things to say.

He unveiled a series of game-changing developments:

  • The GForce RTX 4080 Ti GPU, tailored for gaming enthusiasts, is now in full production.

  • The Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) was launched, set to give game NPCs a more dynamic personality using AI.

  • Nvidia's Cuda computing model now services four million developers, signifying its crucial role in the tech sphere.

As if that weren't enough, he announced collaborations with SoftBank, Google Cloud, Meta, and Microsoft. These partnerships indicate a bold expansion blueprint.

Huang also touched upon the complex US-China chip situation, conceding the likelihood of China seeking alternative technology solutions.

💳 AMEX BRINGS AI INTO THE CREDIT CARD BUSINESS

Amex is gearing up to give AI a seat at the credit approval table.

Despite dabbling internally with machine learning, the financial bigwig is planning to outsource its AI needs via partnerships. They're looking to:

  • Validate transactions

  • Approve credit

  • Analyze customer sentiment

  • Forecast customer finances using AI

One thing's for sure: don't expect them to build their own LLM to compete with the likes of OpenAI’s GPT or Google’s PaLM.

Senior VP of Amex Digital Labs, Luke Gebb, practically laughed at the idea: "Our hypothesis at the moment is that we would be better suited using LLMs through partnerships."

Who these partners are remains a mystery, but let's not forget their recent cloud-based AI collaboration with Microsoft.

Despite the excitement, Amex is taking a measured approach to this tech integration that’s akin to their recent stance on crypto.
