 🔦 CHATGPT DISCOVERS MAJOR BUG

Late Wednesday afternoon, Sam Altman took to Twitter to reveal that the team had found a significant bug in the ChatGPT code.

This bug allowed a “small %” of users” to see the titles of other users’ conversation histories.

While the team worked on a fix, the chat history was disabled for a period of time.

This may not sound like a big deal, but in the future people will have A LOT of personal chat data that they will not want exposed to anyone else.

🔦 NVIDIA GOES ALL IN ON AI

Whether you're an investor or a tech nerd (or both?), you surely have been hearing a lot about NVIDIA lately.

And for good reason! The chip company has been making all sorts of waves.

Now, they're looking to broaden their reach in the cloud by announcing their AI Foundations service.

This service will enable usage of all sorts of platforms, such as:

  • DGX Cloud (access to AI computation via your browser)

  • NeMo (think customizable LLMs)

  • BioNeMo (similar to NeMo but for medicine/biology)

  • Picasso (NVIDIA’s answer to DALL-E)

These features will also make it WAY easier for businesses to dive into their AI endeavors.

From healthcare to entertainment, these services will be available for businesses of all sizes and industries.

Speaking of healthcare, NVIDIA isn't stopping there. They're also partnering with Medtronic, an American medical device company.

This collaboration will leverage Nvidia's cloud services and Medtronic's expertise in medical device development.

Synergies from this partnership have the potential to be a game changer for the industry. These will include increased efficiency, reduced costs and improved customer engagement.

🔦 GATES LOOKS FONDLY ON AI

Bill Gates has made a name for himself by ushering in what was once considered “the future”.

Yesterday, the Wizard of Windows shared his thoughts about how AI will shape the world to come. Here are some highlights:

  • AI’s impact on how humanity exists will only grow in the years to come

  • Bill’s excited to see how AI will revolutionize tasks like diagnosing diseases, helping farmers grow crops efficiently and improving overall energy usage

  • He thinks one of the biggest challenges with AI will be making sure it is used both ethically and responsibly

  • For these reasons, he urges governments to work together in order to develop standards and regulations for the use of AI

  • Overall, Gates believes that AI has the potential for good, but that humanity will need to use it wisely to ensure this.

We appreciate your thoughts and the overall sentiment, Bill. 🫡

🔦 FIREFOX LAUNCHES PRIVACY-FOCUSED AI ECOSYSTEM

Who here has used Firefox? The company began as a privacy focused alternative to web browsers like Chrome.

They’re now focused on bringing privacy to a new area of technology: AI.

The company just launched a new startup called Trustworthy AI.

Trustworthy AI aims to promote the development of AI that is fair, transparent and respects user privacy and rights.

It will offer consulting services, training programs and tools to help developers create both accountable and unbiased AI.

The startup also plans on collaborating with researchers and policymakers to advance the understanding and regulation of AI.

For context, the open-source Firefox browser has played a significant role in:

  • Advancing web standards

  • Promoting privacy and security (talk about being ahead of their time!)

  • Fostering competition in the browser market

Mozilla's move into AI reflects the growing concern about the social and ethical implications of AI.

Will this be the beginning of a more responsible path forward for AI technologies?
