🤝 MICROSOFT TEAMS UP WITH AMD
Computer chips are like the fuel that makes AI run. Nvidia is currently in control of that market, but things may be changing soon.
Microsoft and AMD are reportedly getting cozy with each other. Their goal? To take on the Nvidia behemoth itself.
AI services like OpenAI's ChatGPT have everyone craving powerful processors. This a huge contributor in why the chip market leader is such a coveted position.
AMD CEO Lisa Su is stoked about AI, calling it their "#1 strategic priority." They're ready to create custom chips for big clients' AI data centers.
But let's not forget about Microsoft and Nvidia's ongoing relationship. After all, the former is still trying to secure more of the latter’s precious GPUs.
Meanwhile, other players like Google and Amazon have plans of their own. They're both developing in-house AI chips to become viable players.
At this point, it's anyone's guess as to how the chip drama will unfold.
💰ASHTON KUTCHER RAISES $243 MILLION AI FUND
Ashton Kutcher ain't just a pretty face, ya know? Dude's been banking on AI for years and now he's raising a cool $243 million for his new AI fund in a casual 5 weeks. Looks like those LPs from his past ventures just can't get enough of him, huh?
His portfolio's already got some AI all-stars, like OpenAI, Stability AI Ltd., and Anthropic, making Sound Ventures LLC worth a whopping $1 billion! Kutcher ain't chasing no hype, but when GPT came out, he knew it was a game-changer.
Sure, he's dabbled in crypto, but he's all about that blockchain value, even though he thinks some "tokenization" got a little cray-cray.
And he’s not shy about calling for some much-needed regulation in both AI and crypto. So watch out, world, Kutcher's coming for you with brains, brawn, and a whole lotta AI cash.
🍎 APPLE DOESN’T NEED AI HYPE
It's hard to find a company these days without the letters "AI" in their ad campaign.
Apple might be one of the only exceptions.
Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, barely mentioned it in their earnings call last Thursday. Meanwhile, companies like Microsoft, Google, and Meta can't stop talking about it.
Even without it, Apple's stock jumped 4% after the earnings call.
It may surprise some to hear that Apple's already using AI in their products, they just prefer to keep it low-key.
With the WWDC coming up, there might be some AI-related announcements. Still, we don't expect Apple to go overboard.
At the end of the day, the company is all about giving their users a superior UX. And if there's one thing we can count on, it’s Apple using AI to further this mission.
