🔥 MICROSOFT IGNITE SETS AI CHIP EXCITEMENT ABLAZE

Microsoft Ignite is here! Starting yesterday and going through the 17th, this developer-centric conference is making all sorts of sweet announcements.

Chief among these is one of today’s: the tech giant is rolling up its sleeves and entering the chip game.

Specifically, Microsoft is releasing two chips: Azure Maia AI and Azure Cobalt CPU. The former is all about training LLMs, while the latter will be an Arm-based CPU meant for dealing with cloud workloads.

And what’s it all for? To reduce dependence on Nvidia’s practical chip-monopoly, of course.

These chips debut in 2024, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see how it all unfolds.
