💾 MICROSOFT PREFERS HOMEMADE CHIPS

If you're in the AI business, chances are you depend on Nvidia for your GPUs and such.
Businesses are trying to avoid relying on them.
Specifically, Microsoft is developing its own chips. They've reportedly been doing this since 2019.
Codenamed Athena, they may be available as early as next year.
If successful, this could drastically cut costs for both Microsoft and OpenAI.
Microsoft has also been working on ARM-based chips.
This follows in the path of other tech giants like Amazon, Google, and Meta.
📢 FEATURED AI PRODUCT: MUNCH
Munch uses state of the art AI to help you maximize ROI on your long-video content, by generating short, media-optimal clips for social media from your podcasts, interviews, webinars, broadcasts and more.
Munch matches each clip with marketing and trend insights, ensuring the success and effectiveness of the content by determining the topic and "trendability" of each clip.
Munch also provides you with pre-written social posts based on video content using GPT, and will instantly generate accurate subtitles, currently supporting 8 languages.
💰WOULD YOU PAY FOR REDDIT’S API?

NFTs aren't the only thing Reddit is diving into.
It's now figured out a way to cash in on the AI gold rush. Only they’re not launching their own LLM…
Instead, they plan to charge companies (like OpenAI) for access to their API.
The Reddit executive team is smart to take this strategic position. They know that these LLMs are only as strong as the data they are trained on.
This makes companies like Reddit, with vast amounts of proprietary data extremely valuable.
Reddit isn't the only company looking to drive revenue this way. Shutterstock and Twitter are also planning on doing the same.

🪦 ARE LLMS FINISHED?

The Godfather of language models...says that the Age of LLMs’ are numbered? Already?
Sam Altman believes that advances in AI need approaches beyond making LLMs bigger.
Many are reading into this statement…
Some say it means GPT-4 will be the last major advance to come from OpenAI's current strategy.
So what are some other strategies?
Many are searching for new model designs or architectures entirely.
One such project to keep an eye on is Dreamer V3, a project by DeepMind and The University of Toronto.
It uses Unsupervised Reinforcement Learning, and self-learns based on a reward mechanism.
You heard about it here first!
