NEWS

Meta's dropping serious cash on celebs. 💰

How much you ask? Try $1 million to be the face of an AI chatbot.

Zuckerberg recently rolled out these AI celebs at Meta’s Connect event. Think Kendall Jenner as your big sis, giving advice, and Tom Brady talking sports.

Creators like MrBeast and Charli D'Amelio are in on it too. Some big names even got paid more, including one creator who reportedly was paid $5 million for 6 hours of work!

For now, these bots are text-only. Zuck's excited about spoken AI celebs, but brand safety's a thing. Better to be safe than sorry, as they say.

NEWS

Věra Jourova, a Czech Republican minister who's also the VP for the European Commission, says that she "sees a lot of convergence in how we look at AI and generative AI".

The EU's pushing hard for its AI Act, while Japan is going down a more flexible route. The difference is most likely due to the latter’s main priority right now: economic growth.

But aside from that, Japan and the EU are extremely aligned on their technological views. This is most apparent from seeing both deep-diving into AI, cybersecurity, and chips.

💡AI CAREER INSIGHT

Everyone’s talking about the latest AI jobs today, along with their high salaries. But which ones are they, exactly?

Lucky for us, this WSJ article breaks it all down so that you know which ones to be on the hunt for:

In-House LLM Developer: Large language models need specialized training to effectively cater to finance industry tasks. This is especially true with institutions, since they retrain these models in-house with proprietary data.

Reskiller: As AI advances, there will be an increased emphasis on "reskillers". These are people who help individuals upgrade their skills to stay ahead of machines. This will be especially important due to traditional career paths changing and the plethora of new skills that will be needed for them.

AI Psychotherapist: Financial firms will need transparency in AI decision-making, necessitating roles that understand and explain AI's logic, especially when making critical financial decisions. These professionals might be termed as "AI psychotherapists" or "AI Risk Managers."

Prompt Engineer: As many know, prompt engineering is a popular new category where professionals instruct generative AI systems in plain English. This bridges the gap between traditional programming and management to optimize AI capabilities in tasks such as legal assistance.
