Any AI-gadget heads in the house?

Humane's highly-anticipated AiPin is almost here! Starting next week, folks will be able to place orders for it.

The price tag? $699.

The fashionable gadget might just be the next big thing in mobile tech. It's got a camera, mics, and allegedly doesn't eavesdrop without a wake word. Users will be able to both chat with and use various gestures to operate it.

But the pin isn’t perfect yet. There won't be any email or maps at first, and other features are still in the works.

Regardless, it's likely that Humane has a ton in store for users. After all, the company has a solid $230+ million in funding and OpenAI behind them.

JPMorgan is diving into AI headfirst...

They're working closely with US regulators on generative AI pilot projects. Think AI-curated earnings summaries and a helpdesk that doesn't just throw links at you, but actually solves your problems.

CEO Jamie Dimon seems ecstatic about the new tech. He's planning to weave it into almost every aspect of the bank's dealings.

But it's not all smooth sailing.

JPM is being super cautious, especially with AI's knack for making stuff up (aka hallucinations). They're setting up tight controls, especially since they're arguably one of the most influential banks out there.

Big plans equals big responsibilities. Can the banking-giant live up to them?

 🤑 AI FUNDRAISING WRAP UP

  • Aleph Alpha: This German startup has secured $500 million in a Series B funding round, co-led by Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence, Schwarz Group, and Bosch Ventures.

    Founded in 2019, Aleph Alpha emphasizes giving clients complete control over AI integration. The company has about 70 employees and focuses on areas such as EU-regulated data protection, security and much more.

  • Greenlite: This identity-focused startup just secured $4.8 million in seed funding. The round was spearheaded by Greylock and Y Combinator.

    Greenlite is revolutionizing compliance in the banking and fintech sectors by serving as an AI co-pilot. It assists compliance analysts in evaluating the risk profile of customers, utilizing both public databases and the financial institution's own data to make informed recommendations.

  • Tabnine: This startup recently announced a $25 million-win in a Series B funding round. It was led by Telstra Ventures and saw participation from Atlassian Ventures, Elaia, Headline and others.

    Co-founded in 2012 by Dror Weiss and Eran Yahav, Tabine is revolutionizing the software development lifecycle by way of generative AI. Among its offerings is Tabnine Chat, an AI-powered "code assistant" akin to ChatGPT but focused on coding.
