📢 FEATURED AI PRODUCT: Nexus

Nexus is the world’s first AI navigator for your entire network, combining the latest in artificial intelligence with the full context of your relationships across email, LinkedIn, Facebook, calendar, and more.

Ask Nexus for help with reasons to get back in touch, ideas for the perfect outreach email, and even the perfect gift idea for that special touch.

🛠 GOOGLE WORKSPACE GETS SOME SHINY NEW AI TOOLS

AI is taking center stage as Google rolls out new generative features for Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Gmail now boasts context-based suggestions for its "Help me write" feature. This means the AI will consider previous emails to help you craft the perfect response.

It's kind of like having your very own personal secretary!

Meanwhile, Slides now features a "Help me visualize" panel where users can generate custom images just by inputting prompts and choosing styles.

Next stop: Google Docs, with a brand new, auto-generated "smart chips" feature. These chips will prompt you to add key information when drafting a job description, helping to make sure you cover all bases.

All these updates are part of Google's Duet AI for Workspace. Any interested parties can test them out via the Workspace Labs sign-up page.

🥸 BEIJING CRACKS DOWN ON AI FRAUD

China's been wrestling with a lot of AI fraud recently.

It's main mode of attack? Scams.

One example was a guy named Guo getting scammed out of $600,000 through a deepfake video call. When news of Guo's misfortune hit social media, the response was swift and trending.

As a result, Beijing's swinging back with some of the toughest AI regulations worldwide.

Beijing isn't the only one responding to this sort of thing. ByteDance’s Douyin, the Chinese TikTok, is taking initiative too. They’re pushing for rules against deceptive AI content.

Despite the chaos, AI adoption continues to grow in China. Alibaba and SenseTime, for instance, are keen on adopting the tech.

China's also working on a new regulatory framework to keep a lid on the AI pot.

🧑‍🎨MAN CREATES FAKE DESIGN FIRM WITH AI

Alex Cornell, an interface designer, whipped up a phony design firm over a single weekend using AI tools, fooling even savvy Twitter users into thinking it was legit.

Using OpenAI's GPT-4 and AI art tool Midjourney, Cornell built a convincingly real digital presence for the fake firm, Andever Design Partners.

He was surprised at how easy it was to use these tools, stating that the project "just speaks to how easy it is".

Even with AI's current limitations - like generating plasticky-looking images and struggling to replicate human hands - Cornell managed to create believable designs.

The AI tools were so good, people were asking Cornell about client acquisition and furniture purchases for his fake firm.

However, he noted that it was challenging to correct small flaws, such as improper positioning of bathroom fixtures, despite the overall impressive output of the AI.

Despite these limitations, the ease and speed of using AI for such projects hint at a promising future for AI-assisted design.
