Well folks, it finally happened...

Google's I/O, an event that's been broadly speculated over, took place yesterday!

Along with the event came a ton of announcements. And yes, AI was at the center of many.

Ok, get ready...this list is not for the faint of heart:

• The Pixel lineup gets three newcomers:

  • Pixel Fold

  • Pixel Tablet

  • Pixel 7A

• AI-powered "snapshots" are coming to Google Search

• Bard is officially available to everyone!

• Android is soon to have AI-powered customizable options

• The new Wear OS 4 will arrive later this year

• The Google Home app gets a makeover

• "Perspectives" feature gives you answer from actual humans

• Google Photos gets an AI-powered Magic Editor

• Introducing: Duet AI for Workspace

And that's the abbreviated one...

Just in case this was all too serious for you, Google and Taito have a joint-game announcement as well.

They're developing an augmented reality version of Space Invaders, using the former's ARCore and Geospatial Creator.

Whether you're partial or not to all of this news, one thing is for certain: Google is making AI a centerpiece of their business plan.

🤔 DATE YOUR FAVORITE INFLUENCER…THE AI-VERSION, THAT IS

The past several months has been a bit like exploring the beginnings to a Sci-Fi movie.

Well, things are about to get even freakier...

Snapchat influencer Caryn Marjorie has transformed herself into an AI girlfriend: CarynAI.

For how much, you ask? $1 per minute.

Developed with OpenAI tech, CarynAI is like Siri but much more intimate. She can:

• Chat about world news

• Suggest allergy-friendly desserts

• Explore "uncharted territories of pleasure." 🤷‍♂️

So how's CarynAI doing so far? Just a week in beta testing and she's pulled in over $70K.

But it's not all roses and dollar bills. Some are worried about CarynAI’s potential impact on society and users.

Dr. Robert Brooks, for one, fears the AI might change the way we treat each other.

Still; this tech could be a cash cow. Marjorie predicts that her AI could bring in $5 million per month. (!)

Downsides include possibly attracting unwanted attention, escalating the cyberbullying and stalking risks.

These are all things that influencers already face, and products like CarynAI may only embolden them.

🥷 HACKERS PREPARE TO TEST THE LIMITS OF AI

ChatGPT's been busted out like an AI-gone-rogue prison break. But fear not, OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft teamed up with the Biden administration to let thousands of hackers test their tech's limits.

They're asking the big questions: Can chatbots be weaponized? Will they blab our secrets? Why's a doctor always a dude and a nurse a lady?

Rumman Chowdhury says we need a hacker army with diverse backgrounds to tackle these AI conundrums at DEF CON this summer. If you've used ChatGPT or similar, you know they can make up facts like a desperate student in an exam.

The US government wants to test these AI models based on the White House's Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights. Some folks are already playing trickster with chatbots, finding hilarious or horrifying flaws. Remember the "grandma exploit"? Yeah, bedtime stories took a dark turn.

Chowdhury, co-founder of AI accountability nonprofit Humane Intelligence, wants to find and fix these flaws.

With OpenAI, Google, Nvidia, and some daring startups on board, we're one hackathon closer to AI safety – and hopefully, no more terrible medical advice.
