NEWS

It looks like Google is pulling an OpenAI and upping the ante on their tech!

The tech giant will soon start charging large enterprises $30/user/month for enhanced AI capabilities in Gmail and work apps known as Duet AI. Another move this is reminiscent of is Microsoft’s pricing for its upcoming 365 Copilot. Both are vying for a larger slice of the AI pie “post-era of ChatGPT".

Companies already subscribed to Google's productivity suite will find an additional cost waiting for them. Meanwhile, a free trial awaits the fence-sitters.

Another notable piece of info? While Google started the Duet AI preorders quietly in May, Microsoft followed with its pricing in July.

NEWS

Introducing Snapchat's "Dreams": its new AI-powered, selfie-generating magic.

As part of Snap's AI evolution, it follows their 'My AI' chatbot launch.

All it takes is uploading a selfie, and boom: Snapchat offers themed eight-photo packs, like "doppelgangers" or "back-to-school".

First pack’s on the house, but want more? That'll be $1 for each, please.

Snap's VP, Jack Brody, calls the new app "playful, fun, and a lil' bit weird." This speaks to the fact that some testers felt a few 'dreams' missed the mark.

Still, customization might be in the works. Dare we ponder whether or not we also see some 'Sponsored Dreams'

Pepsi selfie, anyone? 😜🥤

💡AI CAREER INSIGHT

Anyone who's starting their career right now does not need to be told how influence of AI in the workplace is rapidly expanding.

But, just so we're a bit more educated, let's look at a number or two:

According to McKinsey, 79% of all workers engage with generative AI, with 22% relying on it daily. Recognizing the shift, universities are enhancing their AI faculties.

For instance, the University of Albany added 27 AI-focused faculty members, while the University of Southern California invested over $1 billion in AI.

What's more, the WEF suggests that 50% of all employees will require reskilling by 2025, emphasizing both technical and soft skills.

We don't mean to be the bearer of uncomfortable news, but hey: better to be in-the-know than to have to play catchup.
