Google's ‘Assistant’ product is getting a facelift! It's diving deep into the waters of generative AI, similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT.

They're trying to stay in the race against Amazon, who's also amping up Alexa’s AI capabilities.

Jobs are getting axed, teams reshuffled. The show has just begun, starting with mobile.

Tough decisions lie ahead but Google's top guns, Peeyush Ranjan and Duke Dukellis, insist they're 'optimistic about its bright future.'

As for me, I’ll support whichever company gives me an assistant like Iron Man’s J.A.R.V.I.S. the quickest.

Instagram's taking a new angle on photos on their platform. And yup, you guessed it: it involves a whole lotta AI.

From DM summaries to photo editing, Instagram's prioritizing their UX. Users will be able to transform their pics with ‘Restyle’ or change specifics with ‘AI brush’.

It's also developing tools to distinguish between AI-generated and real photos, something that could help to fight misinformation.

And when exactly will you get these capabilities? That part's unclear.

But with Meta quickly building its AI toolbelt, we can expect to see them sooner rather than later.

Meet C2PA: it's like a "nutrition label" for your digital content. And it's all powered by cryptography.

It basically discloses origins of AI-created images, video, audio.

Who're the big guns behind C2PA, you ask? Adobe, Arm, Intel, Microsoft and Truepic, for starters. Shutterstock's even climbing aboard.

So how does it work?

C2PA employs a series of codes and keys to safeguard data and trace its origins.

As explained by Andrew Jenks, who spearheads Microsoft's efforts on C2PA, it binds provenance info to each pixel through a series of cryptographic hashes.

Of course, no one can fix everything..but C2PA may just be the start we need to get things rollin'.
