π¦ ELON WANTS TO PUMP THE BRAKES ON AI
Ever since the release of ChatGPT, AI-doomsday sentiment has been somewhat rampant.
But who would've guessed that futurist Elon Musk would be leading the charge to slow things down?
Yesterday, the SpaceX CEO along with other business leaders signed an open letter.
It calls on AI labs to "immediately pause for at least six months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4."
The labs can then join forces with independent experts to develop and implement safety protocols.
It goes on to warn of the "profound risks [AI poses] to society and humanity", and opines on why this is a necessary measure.
Another point the letter capitalizes on is how these tools can spread misinformation.
The open letter was signed by over 1,000 people, including Steve Wozniak and Andrew Yang.

π¦ PROMPT YOURSELF TO RICHES
With inflation still acting as a thorn in the economy's side, many are on the hunt for lucrative jobs.
Who would've guessed that AI would bring about some that pay $335,00 a year? π€
Yes, you read that right. Some "prompt engineers" are making that much.
So what does a prompt engineer do?
Anyone who's used a chatbot before knows that they require a bit of coaxing. Prompt engineers specialize in just that.
They also train other employees in how to best harness these new tools.
A prompt engineer's typical day involves writing five different prompts. They then produce about 50 different interactions from them.
Companies in the financial, legal, and insurance sectors are utilizing this new occupation the most.
It should be noted that some see the AI job market as similar to the crypto one from 2021.
In other words, the it may be getting a bit ahead of the technology itself.

π¦ FETCH.AI FETCHES $40M IN FUNDING
If youβve been in the blockchain world, youβre probably aware of several AI protocols building on top of this type of infrastructure.
Fetch.ai is one of them, and it just raised $40M in funding.
This funding will go towards developing tooling that focuses on:
Autonomous agents
Network infrastructure
Decentralized machine learning.
Essentially, the startup aims to create learning models by way of distributed ledgers.
This has the potential to provide a more equitable and traceable approach to AI.
Fetch.ai has already launched a "Notyphi" notification feature for its wallet. It plans to launch commercial services later this year.
The funding comes from DWF Labs, an incubator connected to Digital Wave Finance.
