ElevenLabs, the AI voice startup, just landed $19M in Series A. The company's now sitting at a $99M valuation, not too shabby for a year-old firm.

This cash is gonna fuel voice AI research and open up new products. We're talking publishing, gaming, you name it.

Their tech's pretty cool, too. They're spinning text into speech, cloning voices, the whole shebang.

They've also launched Projects. This lets users create long-form spoken content, right from the platform.

But it hasn't been all rosy. They've had to deal with some platform misuse. Their response? New safeguards and an AI detection tool.

Looking ahead, they're diving into voice dubbing. They're even running tests for AI dubbing at scale.

Despite stiff competition from the likes of Amazon and Google, with $21M total in the bank, they're ready to rumble!

🤝 OPENAI CAUGHT LOBBYING IN THE EU

OpenAI lobbied the EU big time.

They didn't want their AI systems, like GPT-3 and DALL-E, to be classified as "high risk" under the EU AI Act.

And guess what?

They got what they wanted, the final draft doesn't automatically classify GPAIs as high risk.

But it's not all roses, they still have to meet greater transparency requirements.

Seems like OpenAI knows the art of negotiation. But the act still needs member states' approval and could take years to implement.

This makes us question how pure Sam Altman’s intentions are every time he meets with regulators…
