CHATGPT LEADS CHURCH SERVICE

AI in the pulpit? You bet.

Hundreds of German Protestants attended a church service, almost entirely orchestrated by ChatGPT and theologian Jonas Simmerlein.

The AI avatar, devoid of emotion, preached about leaving the past behind and overcoming fear of death.

People's reactions? Mixed.

Some videotaped the event, others found it lacking soul and emotion.

This AI experiment opens up interesting discussions around accessibility and inclusivity in religious services, as pointed out by researcher Anna Puzio.

Bottom line: AI continues to infiltrate new sectors, with mixed reviews.

🥷 THE NEW ERA OF AI SCAMS IS HERE

The landscape of financial fraud is changing, thanks to AI.

Scams are becoming more sophisticated, convincingly mimicking lovers, friends, and even government officials (remember that Jerome Powell incident back in April?).

LexisNexis Risk Solutions CEO, Haywood Talcove, dubs this as "crime 3.0".

Fraud surged in 2022, costing consumers $8.8 billion - a 19% increase from the previous year. Worse yet, the actual scale could be even more extensive, as many scams go unreported.

A tech-smart new age of deception is here, making scams less detectable and more persuasive.

As Madeye Moody would say: constant vigilance!

🍁 MICROSOFT IS MOVING ITS TOP AI EXPERTS FROM CHINA TO CANADA

Microsoft's Beijing-based AI brainiacs might relocate to Canada.

Where exactly, you ask? Perhaps the nickname "Vancouver Plan" can offer some hints.

Geo-political tensions and talent poaching risks are the likely drivers. Microsoft, however, denies any "so-called Vancouver Plan," calling it an organizational move.

Yet, some researchers are eyeing Canadian visas instead of Chinese job offers. The talent migration could tick off Beijing, given its push to attract overseas techies.

Microsoft's history in China spans 30 years. A shift like this could leave a mark, not just in AI but potentially engineering, too.

Could this signal a broader shift for Microsoft in China? Time will tell.
