šŸ”¦ CANVA LAUNCHES AI TOOLS FOR 126M USERS

The age of AI is ushering in all sorts of ways to automate time consuming tasks.

One company plans to take this concept to a whole new levelā€¦

Canva has announced a new initiative: Canva Create.

The graphic design platform will soon offer a range of new AI tools through this program.

These features will make creating content way easier to those without professional experience.

Remember how much your company had to budget for advertising materials? That may be a thing of the past.

Canva's Visual Worksuite will provide tools to help users remain consistent with their organizations' visual identity. Here are some examples:

  • Magic Replace: upload an image, select a style, and let Canva visualize a design for you

  • Magic Edit: use text prompts to edit images

  • Translate: ā€œspeak your audienceā€™s languageā€

  • Beat Sync: automatically sync audio and video

  • Magic Write: give Canva some text and itā€™ll give you anything from a blog post to social captions

Now we certainly want to empathize with our graphic designer readers. Seeing something like this come about may be a bit scary (if not expected).

But like all advancements, new tools empower curious minds.

How will the next generation of graphic designers use these tools to hone their craft even more?

šŸ“¢ What does AI know about you?

Good? Bad? Or is it hallucinating?

Typing in your name is a super fun way to explore Learn.xyz: Theyā€™re a learning platform that uses AI to make learning about anything fun again.

(Use my code BIGBRAIN to skip the waitlist)

šŸ™ˆ Donā€™t want to see whatā€™s out there about you? Try any other topic, likeā€¦

  • ā€œWho is [replace with your friendā€™s name]?ā€

  • ā€œWhy is the sky pink at sunset?ā€

  • ā€œHow do I make $10k/month with my own newsletter business?ā€

And in seconds, their app spits out an entire course with lessons, images, and quizzes. It also suggests new topics, so youā€™ll spend hours going down (productive) šŸŒŖļø vortexes.

If you love to learn, this might end up on your home screen.

Theyā€™re in closed beta but are giving Big Brain readers exclusive access to the platform with code ā€œBIGBRAINā€.

šŸ”¦ PLUGIN CHATGPT, YOU SAY?

Ever get tired of switching browsers to feed ChatGPT information from a particular website? (After all, itā€™s knowledge base is literally ā€œstuckā€ in 2021)

Well, OpenAI just announced its new plugin support for its prized product.

This new capability is designed to help models:

  • Access up-to-date information

  • Run computations

  • Use third-party services .

As usual with any new feature, OpenAI will roll out plugins to a small set of users at first. Theyā€™ll gradually increase access as more is learned.

A documentation to help developers build a plugin for ChatGPT has also been provided.

ChatGPT has implemented safeguards to ensure plugins donā€™t perform nefarious and/or unwanted activities.

These can range from prompt injection, to sending fraudulent emails, to even misusing information sent to the plugin.

However, the plugin offers new risks that may increase the capabilities of bad actors who may defraud or abuse others.

šŸ”¦ MEET THE NEXT AI UNICORN

Character.AI, a Silicon Valley start-up that builds online chatbots, has raised $150 million in a recent funding round.

The company is currently valued at $1 billion!

Founded by ex-Google employees, the company is one of a few start-ups that could one day rival the industry-changing OpenAI.

If we compared now to the Gold Rush, LLMs (large language models) would be the pans. Character.AI is gunning to be the number one seller.

However, building such powerful systems requires enormous amounts of computer processing power, estimated at least $500 million.

This fact will most likely lead to a few big players dominating the LLM market.
