🔦 AMAZON LAUNCHES AI ACCELERATOR
AI startups are garnering all sorts of attention.
It therefore shouldn't be a surprise that a company like Amazon wants in on the action.
AWS has launched a 10-week program for generative AI startups globally.
Accepted startups will receive up to $300,000 in AWS credits to help build their companies.
AWS has said that it won't invest capital in them, as it doesn't yet have an AI investment arm.
Startups that have the most to benefit are those:
With an MVP
With traction with existing customers
Who are already building on AWS.
The new accelerator is open to all startups but those working in generative AI will benefit most.
Other big tech companies are also investing in generative AI, including Google, Microsoft and Apple.

🔦 BIDEN TALKS AI
Yesterday, President Biden met with his science and technology council to discuss AI.
The meeting centered around how the tech will affect both users and national security.
In the President's own words: "Tech companies have a responsibility to ensure their AI products are safe before making them public."
Countries around the world are handling AI in different ways.
For example, Italy has blocked the ChatGPT AI chatbot over data privacy concerns.
Conversely, The Biden administration unveiled a "Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights" late last year.
These guidelines call for safeguarding digital and civil rights in an AI-fueled world.
Of note, the US government has not set specific enforcement actions to regulate AI products as of now.
🔦 MIDJOURNEY BANS ART OF CHINESE PRESIDENT
Midjourney's generative AI platform has banned images of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The reason?
The company is trying to slow the spread of deep fakes online.
Critics are saying that the ban undermines free speech and expression.
One example is Sarah McLaughlin of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE).
She believes that the ban sets a dangerous precedent and could lead to unforeseen consequences.
However, Midjourney CEO David Holz says that the company is doing this to minimize drama.
Supporters of the ban also argue that it is necessary to prevent the spread of disinformation and potential abuse of generative AI tech.

🔦 SENSETIME STOCKS EXPLODE
SenseTime Group Inc. just saw a ton of price action yesterday…
So much so that shares rose 13%!
Now we know that AI-stocks are currently all the rage, but what could have catalyzed this?
Well, it's rumored that the Shanghai-based AI software company is preparing to launch a challenger to ChatGPT.
The company confirmed that it will soon hold a media event. It declined to give any further information on the topic.
