It's no secret that Google has been playing catch-up ever since OpenAI's release of ChatGPT.
Well, it looks like they're finally making some headway on this...
Google just unveiled Bard Extensions, which allows the chatbot to interface with major platforms like Gmail, YouTube, and Docs. This comes months after Bard's release back March.
Though initially less polished, the ChatGPT-competitor ended up garnering 200 million visits by August. Fast forward to present day and Bard seems ready to plow ahead, with this latest update emphasizing personalized assistance and search.
Additionally, a "Google It" button will verify Bard's answers so as to counter misinformation. But even with its expected traction, Google is still labeling Bard as an "experiment."

Copyright law and AI: not the greatest combo in the world...but perhaps that's about to change!
Enter Digimarc Validate, a digital watermark signaling copyright info for AI. It's supposed to help AI avoid copyrighted stuff during learning.
The question you're probably asking right now: but how? Simply put, theyāre implementing a machine-readable Ā© symbol. This is supported by their SAFE software, which AI companies need to purchase.
CEO Riley McCormack says that protecting copyright is harder than ever these days. In fact, he claims that most AI training sets include unlabeled data under copyright.
So what's the pricetag for this new solution? Try starting at $399/month. š± Perhaps weāll have a more cost-effective solution someday.

š„HOT AI STARTUP
Overview:
Emerging fiercely in the AI arena, Character.ai has gained significant traction since its public debut in September 2022. And it hasnāt slowed down yet! Ever since, its user base skyrocketed, marking its territory alongside giants like ChatGPT.
Founded by Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, the startup has secured a formidable $150 million in Series A funding, indicating a promising future.
What They Offer:
Character.ai isn't just another chatbot service in this oh-so-saturated market; it offers users an unparalleled degree of customization, enabling them to design their very own AI characters.
Drawing upon advanced deep learning and expansive language models, the platform gives users the power to tailor characters to specific personalities, behaviors, and almost any aspect you can think of. Be it fictional icons or celebrities, creative writing aids, or text-based adventure games ā the boundaries are set only by the user's imagination.
Something that caught our eye is their unique rating system. Users directly give feedback so as to influence the AI's behavior, further cementing Character.aiās position as a pioneering player in user-driven AI experiences.
The Challenge They Tackle:
Everyone wants a piece of the AI-pie, but not many know how to deliver to their end users. Character.ai addresses this by redefining how we perceive and interact with their customizable chatbots.
Instead of a one-size-fits-all model, the startupās platform focuses on individual experiences, placing users at the heart of AI's evolution. Their philosophy isn't just about amassing users; it's about fostering a community where AI is crafted and nurtured by its users.
