Hollywood actors are joining forces with striking writers to fight for bigger paychecks and safeguards against the encroaching threat of AI.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) are demanding explicit AI regulations to protect the creative pros. Fran Drescher, the president of SAG-AFTRA, isn’t mincing her words.

She's sounding the alarm, calling AI an existential threat that could replace our beloved actors with soulless machines. She's pushing for contracts that shield performers from exploitation, guaranteeing consent and fair compensation.

As AI tools become more adept at spitting out text and images, creatives fear losing control (and $). The unions are banding together to shield their peeps from the dark side of unregulated AI in Tinseltown.

Creators and social media companies have had enough of AI scraping their data.

Fan fiction writer Kit Loffstadt stopped posting online after a data company harvested her stories for ChatGPT's AI tech.

Along with other writers, she flooded the internet with fake stories to confuse data-collectors.

But it's not just writers. Companies like Reddit, Twitter, NYT and NBC News are protesting AI's unauthorized data consumption.

Lawsuits are popping up, creators are locking files and companies like Reddit want payment for data access.

OpenAI and Google claim that they respect creators' rights and look forward to protecting their interests.

But the truth is, the landscape of incentives is changing. Where it will end up is anyone's guess.

A new Windows 11's 23H2 update has been confirmed for Q4 of 2023.

Microsoft's prepping this amid whispers of a "Windows 12" for the following year.

What's in the former? Well, no one exactly knows yet! Microsoft has been keeping that info close to the chest.

However, Microsoft's beta testing revealed one clue: Windows Copilot, an OS-wide personal assistant using Bing and Microsoft 365's AI tech.👀

We can also expect a new File Explorer and native RGB lighting settings for gamers.

The update will be downloaded in stealth mode, lying dormant until Microsoft's ready to flick the switch.

And, of course, let's not forget about those 3D emojis.
