🔦 AI IS COMING TO HOLLYWOOD

If you thought AI was only for the nerds, think again!

AI has arrived at the red carpet, and it's getting the A-list treatment.

Below are 3 examples of how AI is already starting to shape Hollywood entertainment 👇

1) Making Tom Hanks young again: For the upcoming film Here, the producers have brought in help from AI company Metaphysic. Their job will be using AI tech to make Tom Hanks and Robin Wright look like younger versions of themselves.

Metaphysic gained popularity for their Tom Cruise deep fake TikTok account @DeepTomCruise.

2) AI-generated Seinfeld: A Twitch channel is playing AI-generated Seinfeld content 24 hours a day.

Nothing, Forever, is created using GPT-3. While not as funny as the real Seinfeld, it's certainly a sight to behold.

3) Netflix uses AI for Anime series: Netflix film Dog and Boy, used AI for the background art. The producers cited a 'labor shortage' as their reason.

The announcement received lots of pushback on Twitter. Users claimed there are animators that could have used the work.

We believe this is just the start of AI's integration into Hollywood.

In the future every movie will likely have an AI supervisor on set. And yes... we will eventually see a film that is entirely generated by AI.

🔦 INSTAGRAM FOUNDERS LAUNCH AI APP

On October 6th, 2010, Instagram launched to the world.

13 years later, it boasts billions of active users and MASSIVE cultural impact.

How can the founders of such a viral app follow that up?

With an AI-driven text app of course!

Yesterday, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom tweeted about their new AI app.

The product is called Artifact, and aims to be the "TikTok for text".

While the tool is still in private beta, you can sign up for an early invite here.

Let's see if these legendary app founders can strike gold once again.

🔦 OPENAI RELEASES TEXT DETECTION TOOL

Sorry students, but OpenAI just sold you all out.

In a blog post, OpenAI announced their new AI classifier for "indicating AI-written text".

This comes after many educators raised the alarm about ChatGPT being used for cheating.

We previously covered how a Princeton student had built a similar tool called GPTZero.

OpenAI claims that their classifier "is not fully reliable". It only identifies 26% of AI-written text correctly.

It also incorrectly marked human-written text as AI-written text 9% of the time...Sucks to be one of those students!
