Hey there, Big Brainiacs!

Get ready to dive into the latest and greatest in AI โ€“ where tech brains meet human brawn, and innovation's the name of the game.

Today's AI spotlights:

  • AI gets banned from the Grammys๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

  • Tech entrepreneur Hogarth named head of UK AI taskforce ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ผ

  • Mercedes-Benz is experimenting with ChatGPT ๐Ÿš˜

The Grammys just pulled a power move. "Only human creators are eligible," they declared, putting the kibosh on AI-only musicโ€‹.

You can't just slap some AI on a track and call it a day. It's gotta be at least 20% human-made to get a nomination nowโ€‹.

Remember when OpenAI launched ChatGPT last year, and everyone went bananas? The tech's been letting people create songs, essays, and more with AI's helpโ€‹.

Lots of folks are freaking out, fearing AI might boot them from their gigs. The Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild are grappling with AI's role in their fields. They want to protect their members' rights and ensure fair compensationโ€‹.

It's a brave new world, folks. Let's see how this plays out.

The UK hasn't wasted time buckling down on AI regulation. Part of this includes forming an AI taskforce.

Ian Hogarth, a tech entrepeneur who studied AI at Cambridge, has officially been put in charge of this new regulatory body.

Prime Minister Sunak sees London as a global hub for AI regulation. So what's he assigning Hogarth? He's there to examine AI's risks in order to aim for a safe and effective hub.

Armed with a $128M budget, the team will dive into safety research and develop international protections.

As Sunak notes, the potential for AI is big, but we must tread carefully.

Mercedes-Benz is taking AI for a ride by beta-testing ChatGPT as an in-car voice assistant.

It's available to 900,000 US vehicles equipped with Mercedes-Benzโ€™s MBUX system.

The program is voice-activated. All you have to do is say, "Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program,โ€ and the update will install the for free over via satellite.

The idea is to make interactions more natural, but it's also a clever way to catch the AI hype wave.

Microsoft, who is supporting the test with its Azure cloud, pitches an "expanded task capability."

So, will this end up being a useful tool or just another road distraction? We'll let you decide.
