⚕️ MARTIN SHKRELI LAUNCHES AI DOCTOR

Notorious “pharma bro” Martin Shkreli is back with a new AI project called: Dr Gupta.

Regardless of your views on him, there’s no denying that the potential for this project is MASSIVE.

As Martin pointed out in a recent YouTube video, despite technology making most things cheaper, healthcare costs have continued to rise.

This is mainly due to the cost of doctors. There are also other issues with doctors including: availability, quality, and limitations on human knowledge.

GPT-4 recently scored an 86.6 on the US Medical Licensing exam (the average physician score is 90).

With Dr. Gupta, Shkreli and team hope to put a Doctor in the pocket of everyone for free.

Definitely keep an eye on the AI healthcare space as projects like this rollout.

🔦 GOOGLE COMBINES DEEPMIND AND BRAIN TEAMS

Google just stepped it up a notch.

DeepMind and the Brain team are joining forces to form Google DeepMind.

Google Deepmind will be a single, focused unit dedicated to advancing AI and ultimately AGI.

So what's the merger's end goal? To solve the biggest challenges facing humanity.

By combining talents and efforts, Google DeepMind aims to speed up progress towards creating ever more capable and general AI.

They aim to safely and responsibly deliver AI research and products that:

• Dramatically improves the lives of billions of people

• Transforms industries

• Advances science

• Serves diverse communities.

Regardless of how you feel about this development, one thing is for sure:

Google is aiming for the stars.

🏎️ SCHUMACHER FAMILY SUING OVER AI INTERVIEW

For those of you that haven’t watched Netflix’s F1 racing series, a bit of context is needed…

Michael Schumacher is considered one of the greatest Formula 1 racing drivers of all time.

Unfortunately, he suffered a serious skiing accident in 2013 and hasn’t been seen in public since.

That’s why it was odd to see a German magazine publish an edition with him on the cover with the headline: “Michael Schumacher, the first interview.”

So what gives? Well apparently this magazine thought it would be a good idea to publish an AI deep fake interview. 🤦

The Schumacher family was (rightly) pissed off and has decided to sue the magazine.

The outcome of this law suit will likely set a precedent for how deep fakes of famous people are handled in the future.

📱 SNAPCHAT MAKES AI CHATBOT FREE

Last month we covered Snapchat’s AI chatbot “My AI”.

Initially it was only available for Snapchat paid users. But, the company just announced today that all 750 million monthly users will now get it for free.

The bot can also be mentioned in group chats now by mentioning it with the @ symbol.

It can also recommend AR filters to use in Snapchat’s camera or places to visit on the map.

I expect every social app to have multiple AI integrations in the coming year. (Or risk extinction)
